TEDxUnisalerno chooses me as a speaker for the first edition of the TEDx independent cultural event entirely managed by a student-made team of the Università degli Studi di Salerno. To go with the “Hands On” theme, an imperative of hacker ethics for a deconstruction-oriented approach for a better understanding of any subject, I chose to write a speech about the bond between a magician’s method to make their magical shows – which are my very own beginning – and “misdirection”, one of the fundamental tools for a good magician: being able to put wonder over the curiosity to find out how a magic trick works. I chose to bind this theme to branded content: hiding a promotional message “within” a show as a method to divert attention and focus it on emotion and empathy.
